I finally fulfilled my dream and got myself a digital system camera, a Canon EOS 450 D with a EF 18-55 mm objective. I'm so happy! Now the next purchase will be a macro objective, but for now I'm content with this basic objective, have to get to know the camera first, and know how to use it. I've already taken over 1000 pictures and I just can't stop shooting, because everything is just so beautiful all around.
Recently I participated in a National Geographic photo contest. My participation piece is a picture that I took with my boyfriends camera (Canon EOS 400D) and it is called Adagio The results haven't come yet, so I'm still quite nervous about it. The first price is a Olympus PEN E-PL1. Of course it would be amazing to win the camera, but the second and third price intrigues me much more: a National Geographic cartographic department 2010 world map as a antique draft. THAT would be amazing! Of course even the chance to be published in National Geographic is prize enough for me. But there were a lot of people participating, so the chance of me winning is quite small. But still, you can always hope for the best, right!
Thirdly, my mum got a great idea a while ago. She said, that she didn't want to stay in Finland for Christmas. So we are going to spend Christmas this year in Egypt. We booked a trip to Hurghada for a week and I'm so excited. Probably have to get myself a huge SD-card, to be able to take loads of pictures. I can't wait! Until then, I'll have to post *more boring* pictures from autumny Finland.
